The Fab Box July Review + Unboxing

*product was received free for review
The Fab Box is a new subscription box that sends a box of “treasures” monthly.
5-7 items from different vendors centered around a theme with one personalized product from the box’s creator Liz.  The Fab Box is priced at $22 with a monthly subscription. With a one time non recurring box you pay $22 with shipping (I really like that they have non recurring subscriptions). A 6 month subscription is $20 monthly including shipping. Right now you can purchase the July demon box for just $18 including shipping

Here’s the box breakdown
I received a card that tells me what I got which is nice. Sometimes the handmade boxes can be a bit of a challenge having the card really helps. The box was also packed pretty well with tissue so the items were secure.
This is everything I received in this month’s Fab Box
The theme was “Summer BBQ”
This box as you can see from the photo is FESTIVE!
It felt like I opened a mini party.

So, what is all this stuff?

Hamburger Pencil Sharpener
$7.00
This is absolutely my favorite thing in this box. So stinking cute. My daughters have already started asking me if they can have it, I haven’t given up the goods yet. Besides being totally relevant to the boxes overall theme it also has some cute little secrets.
Those little erasers though! Oh my goodness!
Wood Watermelon Clips
$6.00
These are so cute and really nice to have for your curtains, chip bags, anything really. I haven’t decided what I want to do with mine yet but I’ll be sure to let you guys know once I do!

Yellow Vegan Leather Notebook
$8.00
I am ridiculously fond of this. I love that the pages are all different and the cover is really nice. Most notebooks this size have just that cardstock cover. However, this one has really nice vegan leather. And it has that cute smiley.
Here’s a picture of the inside
Picnic Tablecloth Cupcake Papers
$5.00
This is a set of ten. These are really cute and relevant to the box. I am sure that we will get good use of them. I think the price point they used is a little high – since it averages out to about fifty cents a paper.
Personalized, Handmade Initial Ornament
$8.00
This was an awesome inclusion! As you may have noticed, my name is spelled quite uniquely On one hand that is awesome and great because it lends to originality. On the other hand people mispronounce it all the time. Also, when I was a kid, those personalized pencils and stuff never had my name.. fast forward to now as an adult and anything monogrammed, personalized, and customized is something that I am totally interested in! This item was made by Liz the boxes creator, check out her personal page Curious Fab
Ice Cream Pens
$8.00
Aren’t these cute? What picnic would be complete without ice cream! There are two, I received blue and green and then they also have those detachable charms which are super cute. I am going to be honest and say I am absolutely thrilled that they sent me two because I really didn’t want to hear the fighting over these!
The tips of these are actually really nice… really fine point which is my FAVORITE
Summer Thumb Tacks
$5.00
These are cute. I have a corkboard in my “back” room which is kind of a play room, kind of a guest room. These will live there. This is also handmade by Liz the box’s creator. Check out her page here

So, In Summary

We look for three things in a subscription box, quality, presentation, and curation.
I love the curation of this box and since it’s the first one I’m sure they will only get better. It was presented well and everything came as it should have. I think the price point is a little high with their estimated total value being $47 however it’s definitely worth the $22 that you’d spend.

Beyond the price the spirit of this box is so much fun! It’s quirky and kitschy and kind of makes me want to dance!

This is perfect for young women and would make an absolutely excellent gift for a little girl that enjoys reading and writing. And since they offer that one time non recurring subscription I think this would be an awesome “Back to School” gift!
