Loose Tea Addict August Review + Unboxing

*product was received free for review

Loose Tea Addict is a monthly tea subscription box that sends you 2, 2 ounce packages of different teas each month along with some tea related gifts. Boxes start at $16.98 which is super reasonable and needless to say I was pretty excited to open this one up.

Here’s the Box Breakdown
First glimpses of inside the Loose Tea Addict Box
There’s a layer of bubble wrap to make sure your items arrive to you undamaged.
With out the bubble (I already unboxed it so that is why you’ll see the sticker isn’t attached — it came fully attached) The colors are interesting and remind me of Halloween. I love Orange!
Everything that I received in this month’s Loose Tea Addict Box
I love that these come in sealed bags. The fresher the better right?

So what is all this stuff?

Silver Needle Jasmine Tea
I like that you get the card that not only tells you about the tea but also about the steeping process required for this tea. This Silver Needle White Tea is infused with Jasmine to give it a sweet and subtle floral quality.
A look inside the bag for a closer look of this tea reminds how ridiculously aromatic it is.
I love floral teas and this one is so inviting.
Steeping (3-3 1/2 m) reveals a beautiful light amber colored tea whose taste is nothing less than divine. It’s like drinking … lace!
Organic Matcha Powder
The Matcha Tea is a green tea and comes powdered for super concentration. You only need a little to make a nice cup of tea. Match has many health benefits including cleansing and purging the body and is super high in antioxidants.
One teaspoon is all it takes. If you have made Matcha before you know that there is supposed to be a bamboo whisk used and if you are using the traditional method there is an elaborate process. I cheat… I add the water to the cup and mix with a fork or chopstick and that seems to get me froth when I do it. However, you can always shake it to get the froth.
This Matcha is very nice. If you’ve tried Matcha you know that it has a complex earthy flavor. Some people really love it and some don’t. I like it, and I find this one to be a good specimen!
Mingwei Tea Strainer
This is one of the gifts that I received in this box. I have a tea strainer but having a backup isn’t a bad thing. The package is funny, a little girl! She loves loose leaf tea! I am glad though. Now if I offer company tea I don’t have to wait for their tea to steep to have my own.
Tea & Honey! Of course. What a cute addition – our little honey bear!

So, in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation.
A box like this obviously has great curation. It delivers exactly what it says it will and I was really happy with both of the teas that I received and felt like I got a unique selection. Everything came very nicely packaged, so that was nice. As far as quality the Jasmine was one of the absolute best I’ve ever had so I really appreciated receiving it!
As far as economy this box is super affordable. I didn’t do a normal price breakdown because these are teas from Loose Leaf Tea Addict and I’m not certain of the price however I can say that other retailers charge $20 for just one 2 ounce bag of tea. So, I believe it’s safe to say this box is a steal.
