Bestowed is a monthly snack subscription box that for $20 sends 7-10 nutritious snack samples. The founder is a registered dietician and so, I thought this box would have lot of promise as far as nutritious yet yummy snacks.

Our first glimpses inside the Bestowed box.
Everything that we received in the August Bestowed box

So, what is all this stuff?

Honey Stinger Kids’ Organic Energy Chews
$1
These are pretty typical fruit snacks except these include vitamin C and Potassium. Oliver ate these before nap so if you are concerned about the “energy” claim I wouldn’t get too jacked out of joint
Teeccino Sampler
$6
So, I did guesstimation with that price. I will definitely try these, probably enjoy them but let me make one thing clear — my caffeine game is strong. I could never easily make a switch to non caffeinated drinks. Which is probably exactly why I should
Organic Slammers Superfood Snack
$2
These little pouch foods are everywhere and look, I get it. It’s convenient and less messy. But dang guys — we have teeth for a reason. The kids haven’t tried this yet but I am sure they will approve
Kashi Cherry Cinnamon & Cardamom Overnight Muesli
$2.95
I haven’t tried this yet but judging by the flavors and my love of other Kashi products I will probably like this!
Mediterranean Snacks Beanstalks
$2
Another guesstimate with the price. These were very much like veggie straws. The only notable difference was that they had less of an airy texture and more of a paste derivative flavor if that makes sense? They are made from pinto beans which are the red sticks. Cannellini Beans which are the white sticks. And green peas which are the green sticks. (Obvs)
Eboost Spruce Energizing Whole Greens
$3
I am most excited about this. Now the green apple and ginger flavor.. ehh not so thrilled but this is a quick and easy way to get 3 full servings of veggies which is pretty awesome if you ask me!

So, in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Bestowed box is okay but kind of average for me. Quality is nice, there are some really good snacks in here. Curation is good as well, but I don’t feel like it’s necessarily a big hit either. Everything is nutritious and a snack, you know what I mean? I don’t feel like there was anything new brought to the table or anything over the top. Presentation is good as well, in a nice box with a detailed insert. Having said all that, there was an issue with this box… there was something written in the insert that people didn’t receive and we did get an email stating that it was a mistake.
The underlined items were not received in the box.
As far as box economy this box costs $20 and here is the discrepancy — the value of the items I received is $17! You can however use code LOVEHEALTHY for 10% off your first box. But sheesh! And this was my first box so maybe it’s a hit and miss type box but you would think they would want to wow you with the first one! So, yeah this is just kind of an eh… for me all around.
