The Crafty Mail is easily one of the best new subscriptions of 2015 (in this writers opinion).
For $30 you get tons of handmade craft samples from a multitude of ever changing vendors.
September is the last box of its kind because next month The Crafty Mail is taking it to the next level with themed boxes! (YaY!)
Check out the unboxy box video here
I went on a bit of a small business tirade … apologies!
Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the September The Crafty Mail
Here is everything that I received in The Crafty Mail this month
As always it is packed with stuff.
So, what is all this stuff?
Marley Mae 5×7 Print
We have received Marley Mae prints in past boxes and I really love them! I can’t give an accurate price because they aren’t listed on the site but typically an average 5×7 art print costs around $10.
I love the arrows and the saying is so good!
We should choose joy everyday, what a great reminder!
Crafty Cousins Lavender Oatmeal Bath Soak
This is the first time that I’ve received a product like this in The Crafty Mail box.
I like it! It smells really nice, a little bit oaty with some calming lavender.
An up close of all that goodness!
I haven’t had a chance to use this yet but I assure you one thing I know for certain is that I love a good soak in the bath! This will definitely go to good use!
Square Pendant Necklace from Kiper Creations
Okay so this is a wee bit gothic for my tastes — however, I put it on and have to say
I actually really dig this piece. Definitely more a statement piece rather than everyday but something about it says, “don’t mess with me.” I happen to think that’s pretty boss.
Zakiyah Candles Soy Wax Sample
So these little wax tart samples are in the shape of a cute little flower! Zakiyah’s are made from 100% soy wax and are all natural. They have tons of scents to choose from. I received Japanese Cherry Blossom which had a very feminine scent. Imagine a powder puff coated in cream and sugar. It’s a small sample but seriously fragrant. I am going to put this in a drawer and let it scentify my clothing!
B’s Bubbles and Balms Soap Samples
I have no idea what these cost. However this is the Honey Oatmeal Luxury soap variety and it smells awesome! It’s a kind of comfy, homey type of smell. I received two samples of the same soap. I’m not sure if that was a mistake or maybe… they’re tryna’ tell me something. Either way, I love trying different handmade soaps so I am definitely looking forward to using this one!
One of my favorite things that I have received in The Crafty Mail is the L’Aura Botanicals soap samples. I really think these are a great, high end, almost spa quality soap. Check out the Etsy it’s filled with so many yummy soaps and bath products. It’s all very decadent!
Love this color! After looking at her site I think I am going to have to adorn a mug with this baby! It almost has a little bit of our local Pennsylvania Dutch hex sign style to it.
Kinda? A little bit?
Marley Mae Designs 5×7 Print
This is adorable! I’m reminded of our honeymoon in Boston where NO ONE owns a car and people just ride on bicycles — mainly to terrorize motorists.
Love the colors, and while I can’t find prices on most of the items included in the box I do know that comparable art prints of this size average around $10
Studio SL2 Mini Solo Cup
I gotta big ol’ crush on this guy! My facebook feed lit up like a Christmas tree when I posted it on there… solo cups are just… “likable”. This is the same Etsy Shop that brought us the very cool wooden gift tag. Love it!
B’s Three Hair Accessories Elastic Hair Tie
Leopard print hair tie? Heck yeah! Penny is going to love this. She is all about the animal prints. Check these guys out, they have every style and pattern that you could possible imagine in hair tie form!
The Party Fox Mini Cupcake Topper
I love this! So adorable! For some reason these really delicate paper crafts brighten my day. Love that tiny button in the center and their name is pretty much the cutest thing I’ve ever heard!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Crafty Mail has once again given us an awesome selection of items. I think what I like most is the versatility and the fact that I am always surprised. Curation as always is A1! Quality is awesome. All the items are handmade with love and I really like that boxes like this exist. As consumers we need to be exposed to small businesses’ products if we expect and want small businesses to succeed and thrive. Companies like The Crafty Mail help with that! Everything came as it should have and neatly packaged so presentation is also a plus this month. Every month is different with The Crafty Mail and I know I can’t wait for next month!
As far as box economy we receive a lot of smaller samples from small businesses with this box so it’s hard to estimate prices with them. But just with the things that we know the price of and the estimation of the prints we received $40 in products for a $30 price and that isn’t even all of it! I think that, that is quite a deal!
