Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the sixties Retro Pop Box
It’s far out!
Everything that we received in our sixties Retro Pop Box!
What a fun and colorful assortment of items – it’s like a comic book come to life!
So what is all this stuff?
Batman Bendable Figure
This bendable Batman Figurine is vintage style. There’s actually a whole line of classic figurine sets. 1966 is when the Batman TV Series premiered which makes it a pretty cool toy to have, especially if you are a collector. I am supposed to include (my husband has insisted) that this is the Batman played by Adam West
Retro Pop Box Pins
These pins are very small, about the size of a dime. I really like the turn table one, it is so cool!
I am guessing these are Retro Pop Box exclusives
Have a Nice Day Patch
This cute patch reminds us of a couple of things. First, the popularity of patches and adorning them to things in the sixties. Secondly, how huge the smiley face became. This happy face reminds us to, “Have a Nice Day”
Mr. Sketch Scented Markers
Mr. Sketch markers were introduced in 1965. So, naturally if those were your glory days these are going to strike a chord. I actually remember using these when I was in school! If you did well the teacher would mark your paper with one of these babies! We received the green and blue Mr. Sketch markers in this Retro Pop Box
Star Trek Luggage Tag
This classic Captain Kirk Luggage Tag is from the Original Star Trek Series. It’s an extremely fitting quote for a luggage tag, “To explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations.”
My Dad and my Brother are both huge Star Trek fans so I may give this to one of them.
Here is a shot of the other side of the tag, where all your info goes. Love the little trekkie insignia!
I can NOT find anything out about this radio station and I would love to know more! There are currently two WRNR Stations one on AM Frequency and one FM. However, neither is the WRNR on this shirt. This shirt very cool! Love the colors and the cut of this unique tee!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The presentation of the Retro Pop Box is awesome! Loved the “Far Out” way it was delivered! Everything comes exactly as it should which is great. As far as quality everything is really nice and I just love the t-shirts that they send! Curation is excellent, this box is all about fun and reliving the “old” days – we definitely receive that with this box. While I can’t really connect with a lot of these items I can definitely say that I can see how people could! I am excited to show this to you guys and would really love to see what your thoughts are on the items included (particularly if you are a 60’s baby!) Let me know in the comments below!
As far as box economy the Retro Pop Box costs $20 and with just the things we could find prices on (not including the pins, patch or the tee) our total came to $23. I think it is safe to say that this is an absolute steal and the perfect gift for someone you aren’t quite sure what to get for – this will surely put a smile on their face!
