Here’s the Box Breakdown
Be still my heart… our first glimpse inside yields a Bowie sticker!
This went from 0 to 100 REAL QUICK!
Everything that we received in our 1980’s Retro Pop Box.
We’re going to say we came into this one feeling a bit too confident.
If you watched the unboxing – you’ll know we got schooled in a lot of 80’s pop culture referencing.

So what is all this stuff?

Feel the Pain T-Shirt
Let us first say that this is a very cool shirt. Mainly, because Mr. T is on it. But also because Rocky (in the Philadelphia area) is a huge deal! But next I’m going to say I’ve let my Philly brethren down… I had no idea Mr. T was in a Rocky at all! I’ve totally seen Rocky before too!
Regardless, this is a cool t-shirt! And Rocky III came out in 1982! It’s predecessor came out in 1979
DC Heroes Magnets
At first I was a little confused because in the 70’s box we received the “Villains” magnets. So I looked up DC comics in the 80’s. Batman the movie came out in 1989 and Superman the third version of the animated series also came out in 1988. So these totally make sense. (I obviously need to dust up on my comic knowledge because I called the red guy up there “Iron Man”)
I stand corrected.
Loveboat Teeny Tin
This is adorable, it’s a tiny little metal lunch box! It even has the jointed handle! The Love Boat was a ridiculously popular show in the late 70’s and all through the 80’s! I could not, for the life of me figure out why I had never seen an episode and then I remembered – my Mom did not like this show for whatever reason… so it was a no go in our house. This is super cute though, so I’m hoping I can find someone out there who loves the Love Boat I can gift it to!
Battlestar Galactica Coasters
When you first see this box it looks like it’s a DVD or game. Nope. Just coasters based off of the 10 episode 1980 series Battlestar Galactica
These Cylon Centurion Coasters from Battlestar Galactica are tin with cork bottoms. These make a great addition to your sci-fi themed bar or game room!
Ziggy Stardust Sticker
What a great little homage! Easily my favorite thing in this box. Guys, I think I might have been born in the wrong era!
Atari Sticker
Perfect for an 80’s box! How most teenagers passed the time, playing Pac-Man and Pitfall! with an old school joystick!

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. Retro Pop Box is not only fun, but I always leave this box with a little bit more knowledge than I went in with. Whether it’s the Retro Fun Fact or just pure curiosity I find out so many little facts after I receive these boxes! I love the presentation of the 80’s Box and thought the David Bowie sticker was the ultimate touch. Quality is awesome as always. The t-shirts alone make this box a steal and a half. Curation is also fun! Maybe I was just too young in the 80’s to know what was up.I feel like the 60’s box resonated with me the most. Maybe it has to do with all the pop leftovers they threw on TV in the 80’s, Either way, Retro Pop Box definitely brings a smile to your face and brings you a present from your past!
As far as box economy the Retro Pop Box costs $20 and for that we received $25.75 in products and that doesn’t include the t-shirt or the stickers! We love this box and think it’s an awesome value!
