Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Miletea Subscription Box and there’s a lot of items in there!
Here is everything that we received in our Miletea Box.
We see the travel tin! It’s important to mention that one of the three teas you receive you choose from the classic selections that Miletea offers. This way you are guaranteed to receive something you like and you can change it at any time!
So what is all this stuff?
Our inserts. Each of these cards tell us about each different tea. And lucky us – they’ve increased the amount of tea included from 60 grams to 80 grams! Woop woop!
Tea Take Along
Your first box from Miletea contains a tea tin so you can take your tea where ever you go! There is also a mystery tea inside…
We think this is super cute!
The tea inside is aromatic and pretty – just no clue what it is!
White Bai Mudan Tea
There was a total of 25 grams of this White Tea included in the box. The name of this tea translated literally means White Peony and it’s hand picked to ensure the highest of quality
I like that steeping instructions are on the packages. Sometimes it’s just on a card and we eventually misplace it and just have to guestimate!
How beautiful is this? It’s whole leaves! It looks like some sort of salad!
I would describe the flavor of this white tea as simple, smooth and easily pared with almost anything! It’s very mellow and yummy
This is the “classic” tea that was included in our bag. Other classics available are Earl Grey, Jasmine, Oolong, and Black tea. We received 30 grams of this tea.
A quick steep at a mere two minutes!
Smaller and much greener leaves (hence “green tea” I suppose!) comprise this traditional tea. Miletea gets the green tea leaves at the very start of the growing season
This is a very good example of a quality green tea. Strong finish yet smooth. Green Tea always feels like it has one thousand different flavors at once, and always just slightly bitter. I typically add lots of honey to mine!
This was the first time that I had ever heard of this tea. It’s a Green Tea with cherry and rose hints to it. Harvested in the mountains of the Hunan Province of China
A 4-5 minute steep was too long! We were too excited to try this one!
This tea looks almost tropical but what’s more is the scent, it’s sweet and smells… imagine paradise and having dessert in paradise. That’s what this tea smells like!
This is tasty. Not only delicately sweet and smooth but invigorating, it has a crisp after taste that we love! Definitely our box favorite!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Miletea Subscription Box is presented excellently! We love the box and packaging and particularly the little take along tea tin! Such a cute little touch. Quality is great. All of these teas are delicious and a really good quality. Curation is great as well. The two non traditional teas were teas that not only had we not heard of before but also very different from each other to maximize variety. We think Miletea is an excellent option if you are into trying new and fun flavors but also like to have a “safe bet”. We really enjoyed this tea subscription box!
As far as box economy we can’t figure out price by price each tea’s value but think that the under $20 price tag is quite reasonable. Especially considering the quality of these great teas!
