Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Bon Recipe Subscription Box envelope
Everything that we received in our Bon Recipe Subscription Box.
It is important to note that we may have seemed confused in our unboxing it is because what we received is a sampling of the many different recipe card options available. Each recipe that was included looks absolutely scrumptious!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert that also explains Bon Recipe’s Mission to donate 10% off all proceeds to Feed the Children, giving disadvantaged families hearty meals (all the hearts for that!)
Our envelope… we just thought the little note was cute! Had to share!
Mini Red Velvet S’more Tarts Recipe
Um, YES! Not only does this look divine it also has a prep time of 5 minutes and … being the awful chef that we are we feel like we could handle that! In this 4×6 format on cardstock Bon Recipe costs $8.99 a month
We love this option because you could easily put these into a side loading photo album!
Also included on each recipe is Weight Watchers points for you guys out there that count them!
Our grocery list. We love how simple they’ve made everything for us. Just tear off the one you need and the rest of the lists will be there when you get to them or do it all at once – you go getter you!
Happy June Fun Facts
This is just an extra thrown in for the month of June that gives us different facts about cherries since they happen to be in season right now!
We were amazed there was so much to know about cherries like; cherries are part of the Rose family!? Say what!
Corn Fritters Recipe
This recipe is both prepared and cooked in ten minutes which makes it a quick little creation. This recipe is printed on paper making this the least expensive of the subscription options at $6.99 monthly
And as we said in the unboxing fritters are a big deal where we’re from so we are really excited to get to try a recipe that isn’t from our region!
Rosemary Melonade Smoothie
This recipe looks like a refreshing summer treat and our total time to make it is a mere 6 minutes so you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll be whipping this baby up as soon as possible!
This is a 4×6 card and is also laminated, this subscription costs $9.99 a month. Great if you are a binder lover!
Almond Cake Recipe
We’re really impressed with how simple all of the recipes included in the Bon Recipe Subscription Box seem! Even this one which you’d think would be the most difficult is only 10 minutes of prep work and 30 minute of cooking!
Because this is the 8×11 laminated cardstock this is at the height of the Bon Recipe pricing at $12.99 monthly (still mega affordable if you ask us!)
Indian Spiced Baked Potato and Egg Foil Packets Recipe
This was by far the most unique recipe that we received in the Bon Recipe Subscription. The mixture of curry and other spices paired with the potato and egg promised to be a complex and interesting dish!
This subscription costs $11.99 a month and is another great option if you like to store your recipes in a binder!
Okay, so now what?
We cooked! We had all of the ingredients we needed to make the Indian Spiced Potatoes so we figured what the heck and tried it!
We preheated our oven and then halved the recipe. We subbed golden potatoes for little red bliss.
We then sliced them all up
Immediately tossing in the olive oil and spice blend
We got this beautiful color and the potatoes themselves were aromatic and yummy smelling!
Put inside foil cups we baked them for about 25 minutes and then removed and cracked an egg over each – returning to the oven for approximately ten more minutes of bake time
Our finished food!
These were yummy and very hearty and even the kids loved them!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. Bon Recipe is a unique take on subscriptions and offers a new way to get creative in the kitchen. It’s easy to get bogged down with the same old recipes and Bon Recipe offers variety and a great range of options. The presentation is awesome! We love that they have so many different recipe card options – this gives everyone a chance to be able to try them out. The quality is great, the recipes come from some of the best chefs and food gurus out there! Curation is great as well! Each month you can expect to receive recipes sent based upon your taste preferences and dietary restrictions which is awesome! We think Bon Recipe is a great way to keep your eating habits fresh!
