Target Beauty Box | Review + Unboxing | May 2016

Target Beauty Box is not a subscription box. However, it does come out about once a month. Each month prices range from $5- $10 and are always well worth the money spent. They put together fun collections of sample and full sized products and even have some themed boxes and men’s boxes!

Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside. This box is “Spring Fling” themed and has pretty lavender tissue!
Everything that we received in the May Target Beauty Box
What fun!?

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert that also includes a $3 off coupon for Target Beauty
Hair Food Kiwi Dry Shampoo
This smells great but we aren’t huge on dry shampoo. We will say that we love the Hairfood line and that when it comes to dry shampoo we prefer the sprays to the powders. Maybe we’ll use this in our daughters hair!
Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream
This is like a cult classic but we’ve never actually had an opportunity to try it! Now is the time! Yippee! It is just a foil sample but if we fall in love we’ll know it’s worth the buy!
L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Towelettes
Self Tanners make us nervous but we’ll give these a shot since we can always hide it under pants or something! There is 1 sheet in this sample package.
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream
Target sends a lot of Laneige products and they’re nice. We are actually kind of certain they sent this exact item over the holidays.
Either way – it smells great and is really moisturizing!
Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Oil
We were most excited about receiving this item. A cleansing oil with coconut and argan oils. After trying it we are pretty impressed. The scent is really nice as all Burt’s Bees products are. It has a really light lemon-y herbal scent and goes on really smoothly. At first we thought it may be a bit too oily but after having it on a few minutes our skin soaked this right up! Definitely recommend to those of you out there that have dry skin!
Andalou Age Defying Night Repair Cream
The item we could have lived without but… we totally get it. There are tons of people out there that will benefit from receiving this.
Resveratrol is a word we’ve been hearing thrown around with anti-aging products quite a bit now but we so rarely really give them a good try we can’t really make an honest opinion about them.
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser
Hmmm… this was like a quarter of the way full. This is the second item we’ve gotten in a sample box from Cerave that was not really enough to even be considered a sample. TSK TSK!
Derma e Firming DMAE Moisturizer
Derma e has been everywhere lately. We have a number of their products all received over the last three months. Their packaging is kind of bland but you know we love to try out moisturizers!
After trying this out we have to say we love it! This is the closest we’ve come to a Nivea in a while! A great before bed cream, this doesn’t really have a scent but the formula is super rich and nourishing!
L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Lip Pen
$9.99
This one item pays for the whole box! Love this color and the pigmentation. We aren’t huge on red but for whatever reason this did it for us! Love that it’s a twist up and not a sharpen as well!
You can easily line your lips with this and then fill in. Beautiful and effortless!

So in summary

We think this was a great summer selection from Target and while we got this in a little late we are still really happy with the items that we received. Particularly the lip pen, moisturizer and the cleansing oil. We think that you can see the value in this box and so we didn’t bother breaking down the prices for each individual sample. We have already received the June Boxes and are thinking of doing the unboxing for June’s Beauty Boxes one by one so we can have them posted a little sooner.
