Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Foodie Terranean Subscription Box. We love trying new foods so it’s safe to say that we were excited to look inside!
Everything that we received in our July Foodie Terranean Subscription Box.
This box looks amazing!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. We received detailed cards that told us each item we received along with recipes.
There’s also another card that shows you each spot on the Mediterranean you are being taken to in the box
Lebanese Village Sumac
This additive and preservative free spice is widely used in many mediterranean cuisines. This was included to create the Fattoush Salad.
Sumac comes from the Sumac Bush which produces red berries that once ground yield this lemony flavored spice that adds a tang of flavor to your dish
Turkish Coffee is ground extremely fine so that there’s no need for filtration. This is probably one of our favorite items we’ve EVER received in a box! This is an awesome experience and while we haven’t had a chance to try this out yet we can’t wait to!
While this is a small bag (3.5 ounces) you only need on tablespoon to make your coffee!
Cezve Handmade Turkish Coffee Pot
Isn’t this gorgeous! You know the saying, “When in Rome!”. You can feel like a local with this hand hammered cezve. We are in love with the design and kind of want to use it for decoration!
Cortas Pomegranate Molasses
This is another Lebanese ingredient included to create the Fattoush Salad. Highly concentrated this juice is mainly used in cooking. Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin B. It is said that Fattoush Salad contains almost everything your body needs to maintain it’s health! (Check out Instagram because we’ll definitely be serving that up in the future!)
Carmencita Paellero Spices
This product of Spain contains 3 packets of paella seasoning.
The Carmencita Brand is one of the most reputable spice companies in all of Spain so you can bet you’re going to be cooking one tasty concoction!
Palirria Stuffed Vine Leaves
We love Dolma! This Greek appetizer is vine leaves stuffed with rice and dill. These are so yummy and they are so good for you! The grape leaves used are harvested in May before the spraying of pesticides.
They are so perfect looking and sadly we ate them in ONE sitting… there were two and a half servings in there! No regrets!
Fossier Le Biscuit Rose De Reims
Hailing from France these biscuits are some of the oldest in culinary history! Created in 1691 and famous for staying hard even after being dipped in Champagne!
Very sweet and coated in powdered sugar we were nice and shared these with the children! They approved!
Calasparra Bomba Rice
This Spanish paella rice is cultivated by hand and the people in the town of Calasparra where it’s grown obey rigorous Denomination of Origin standards to preserve the quality.
We received a recipe for chicken and shrimp paella and while we didn’t have shrimp it didn’t stop us!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Foodie Terranean Subscription Box is an excellent box for the foodie or the person interested in trying new and exotic flavors. It’s also a great way to brush up on geography (we didn’t know France was part of the Mediterranean, sadly). The presentation is awesome, this is a beautiful box and everything is packaged carefully. The quality is fantastic, all the items are chosen for flavor and carefully sourced. The curation is wonderful! We love that we received ingredients for two recipes and then two items that could be eaten directly! Top it off with the Cezve and Turkish Coffee and this subscription box was just heavenly!
As far as box economy the Foodie Terranean Subscription Box costs $49 monthly and while we couldn’t find many of the prices we think this box is worth every penny! It was a sheer delight!
