Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Boxwalla Food Box for August. Same awesome (and sustainable) packaging!
what's in the august boxwalla box
Everything that we received in our Boxwalla Food Box for August. The theme is “Summer Memories” and includes everything you need to create amazing memories of all your outdoor fetes! This box was chock full… in fact the tin didn’t fit and was on top of the box inside the mailer!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert – written like a letter to a friend and detailing each item we received and some information about the companies they were sourced from
catskill provisions cocktail rimmer
Catskill Provisions thrives on three things; bees, maple trees and local farmers. In the August Boxwalla Box we received a container of the Maple Sugar & Ancho Chile Cocktail Rimmer (which also subs as a meat / vegetable rub)
We rimmed the glass we put our shrub (keep reading for more on that) in.
So, we’ve never rimmed a glass before – as is clearly evidenced by the huge mess we made and our less than grand looking rim spectacle. Having said that, this stuff is delish! The spicy comes through and the sweet is not overwhelming. It’s a perfect marriage of the two! There are three other flavors in addition to the Ancho Chile availabe
lick my spoon razz ma tazz
While this isn’t our first item from Lick My Spoon it is the first chocolate raspberry jam! What a concoction! An absolutely decadent way to dress up waffles, pancakes or anything you might add jam to
The color is beautiful and the consistency is thick – almost pudding like. A great way to make fruits fun or an amazing addition to crackers. You really can’t go wrong – we enjoyed it straight from the jar!
crema di miele hazelnut honey cream
Wow! That’s all we have to say about this stuff… it’s AMAZING! A sweet blend of organic roasted hazelnuts and organic acacia honey imported from Italy. You can pair this with cheese or add to fruit or muffins.
The texture is incredible, you can feel the tiny crystallized bits of honey. The flavor is sweet and nutty and the entire concoction just melts in your mouth. Out of this world amazing – a must try!
inna shrub
Our favorite item that we’ve ever received in a subscription box was Inna Jam – so you can only imagine our delight to receive this shrub mix. Made from locally sourced blackberries in California this shrub can be mixed into cocktails or with sparkling water. Just in case you want to know more about shrubs
Here’s our shrub. Inna has so many flavor varieties to choose from go ahead and look! This is an awesome way to do cocktails or just have around to make drinks more fun!
catskill provisions ketchup
Another inclusion from Catskill Provisions this ketchup is sweetened with just honey and contains no artificial flavors.
We had it on our burger and with our fries for dinner and it was scrumptious! The flavor is not nearly as sweet as regular ketchup and a bit more tangy. The texture is a bit less “gooey” than traditional ketchup as well. This made us feel really fancy – a definite win!

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Boxwalla Food Box is once again full of fabulous companies with even more fabulous products. It makes us defy our willpower and eat WAY, WAY too much… but we think it’s definitely worth it! The presentation is great, everything is packaged well and arrives exactly as it should. The package itself is biodegradable and a great way to be kind to our home – planet Earth. The quality is AMAZING. This box is just overflowing with products that you would never walk into the grocery store and see, you have to be thankful that these companies exist. Otherwise we’d never know just how tasty things like ketchup can be. Curation is excellent. This definitely is the box that dreams are made of (even if they are our dreams when we go to be with an empty tummy). A great starting place for a brunch menu!
As far as box economy the Boxwalla Food Box costs $49.95 and for that we received $52 in items which is outstanding. Worth ever penny!
