Here’s the Box Breakdown
first glimpse inside empire crate
Our first glimpse inside the Empire Crate. Love the very woodsy, natural vibe this box has!
what's in the empire crate
Everything that we received in our Empire Crate Box for November. This mix of delicious goodies is awesome!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert
Inside is a little blurb about each company and their story as well as the item that were chosen for the box
anya's licorice
Our first offering from Anya’s is a Strawberry Licorice made with real fruit in Brooklyn, New York. This tasty treat contains no high fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives!
This is the truth behind the photos folks… anytime they hear a wrapper… they appear searching and begging for snacks! But back to the licorice, we weren’t sure if this was going to be like fruit leather but it is not! It really and truly is licorice and it tastes fantastic. The strawberry is bright and sweet!
anya's mango licorice
Our second licorice from Anya’s is definitely our favorite. The deep flavors of mango are heightened in this stick.
We love how you can see the real fruit pieces in these bars!
weber's horseradish mustard
Weber’s Horseradish Mustard is amazing! We love mustard – we put it on everything! French fries, chicken fingers, you name it, we douse it in mustard. This horseradish infused mustard has a bite and it’s perfect to pair with pretzels or sandwiches!
What an excellent afternoon snack this made!
martin's handmade pretzels
Our neck of the woods boasts some of the best pretzels around and these pretzel’s are in the “Penna Dutch” fashion… exactly what we’re familiar with – thick crunchy pretzels that are perfection!
We had these with the Weber’s Mustard pictured above!
gatherer's granola
A blend of golden rolled oats, maple syrup, whole toasted almonds, and peanut butter clusters makes this granola a perfect morning energy boost! Non GMO verified this good tasting food is also good for you
The possibilities are limitless. Eat it plain, add it to yogurt, or add some milk (how we had it) either way this is wonderful!
emmy's organic dark cacao cookies
Emmy’s Organics is one of our favorites. Not only are their little cookies delicious but they’re also vegan, organic, gluten free, and raw! We hadn’t tried this dark cacao flavor before but definitely couldn’t wait to give it a try!
Each cookie has the deep cacao flavors along with the rich and chewy coconut. A beautiful medley for your mouth!
partyka pumpkin seeds
Yummy pumpkin seeds – at the most perfect time of the year! We love the crunch of pumpkin seeds compared to all the other seeds!
Everything from the pumpkins right down to the packaging is produced at the Partyka Farm in Kendall, New York! With just two ingredients (the seeds and some sea salt) you can feel comfortable eating this healthy snack

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Empire Crate is an awesome way to literally “take a bite” out of New York! Including companies that produce quality, wholesome products is clearly important and we think the idea is awesome!
The presentation is great, the box and the insert are well designed and everything arrives exactly as it should. The quality is top notch! Each item is not only delicious but also made with love and passion! The curation is great. We love the variety of the items and that many (i.e. the pretzels and mustard) could be used together, it was good thinking on their part!
