Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Home Made Luxe Box. We have to admit the theme was no surprise – we peeked on Instagram
Everything that we received in our Home Made Luxe box for November. This month’s project is “Personalized Joy Holiday Letters” and we received all the ingredients to cook up something fancy!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert
Inside there are not only details on completing our project (with photos) there are also other crafts that were great but wouldn’t fit or don’t make sense to put in a box!
Just a little extra. This is really … beautiful… see what we did there? (we’re so punny)
YES! This matches our mantle! YES! Earthy and gold it’s perfect for the holidays – this paper will go on two of our JOY letters
Every DIY project needs just a little paint, right?
Well how else will we apply our paint?!
Ahh Mod Podge… what can’t you do with it?!
Coffee filters are an interesting touch for a craft and we’ve never used them in this way before so we’re excited!
Every craft project is just an excuse to break out the glue gun! We received 3 hot glue sticks
These are a really durable particle board. They each stand about 12 inches high.
Okay so now what?
Now we craft!
Our first matter of business is to trace the letters J and Y onto the back of the card stock. Alternatively there is an option to use a page with photos of your family. Because the stock matched so well.. we opted for that.
Now we cut out both of our letters
This completes the first part of the project
The next order of business is the painting of the letters. We paint all of them with the white acrylic paint that we received and the foam brush
You must be careful to get the sides – basically anything that is visible has to be painted
Our finished letters! Now we let them dry an hour or two
After they dry we then fix the card stock onto each letter using the Mod Podge
Ta-da! They are so pretty!
The final step is folding our coffee filters in half and then half again and hot gluing them onto our letter O. We create what appears to be a floral letter. It’s really quite pretty and sort of the trickiest part.
Our finished project. We couldn’t be happier with the way this turned out! So very sophisticated – an elegant holiday touch!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Home Made Luxe Box is an awesome way to spend a crafternoon. Wrangle your gal pals and get some wine.. and start making! We love that they find the best projects out there and source the materials… so we don’t have to! It’s convenient, beautiful and fun. The presentation is awesome. We love that they offer video tutorials and really easy to follow instructions. The quality is fantastic. And curation is stellar. Seriously, they’ve done all the work already and the results are stunning! We love Home Made Luxe
