Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Tasty Island Crate
Everything that we received in our Tasty Island Crate. This box was full of yummy snacks – from crackers to chocolate to cheesie yummies!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box inserts. There is a fact card about Trinidad. A “Word of the Month” card and a social sharing card as well.
Sunshine Snacks Chee Zees
Oh man! These are so good – very much like a Cheez Doodle but with a little heat of jalapeno!
The only problem we had with these was that there wasn’t enough!
National Tea Biscuits
This Jamaican tea biscuit is thin and soft and a little bit like a cracker but just a bit more rich and sweet. There were 4 in this pack – these really would be great with coffee and tea!
National Vanilla Sandwich Cookies
These cookies have a super cute package! There were four cookies in this pack – these are comparable to a vanilla oreo and the kids really liked these a LOT!
Sunshine Snacks Caramel Crunch
This caramel popcorn and peanut concoction was more buttery than our typical idea of caramel corn! A product of Trinidad this makes a great snack to keep in your desk to munch on throughout the day!
Even Mr. I’m Not a Tree enjoyed these and he isn’t a big sweets guy
St. Mary’s Banana Chips
These salted banana chips are thin and crunchy. There was enough in this bag that we could share with the whole family!
Jamaican Choice Sweet Plantain Chips
To compliment the salted plantain chips we received these sweet plantains which are our absolute favorite! We can never find these anywhere we go and so we are so stoked to have received these in this box!
And while this was a big bag – we didn’t share any of them!
National Ginger Biscuits
We received two packs of these ginger biscuits – a lot like the tea biscuits but ginger flavored! At first we thought these would be like a thinner gingersnap, however the flavor of ginger is very authentic and retains the heat. These are very good!
National Cheez Trix
This Jamaican Cheese Puff is exactly as you’d imagine, CHEESY!
These are definitely the “Cheesiest” Cheese Puffs we’ve ever had. and the kids LOVED these!
Devon Chocolate Digestive
This chocolate covered wheatmeal cookie has an interesting name but an exceptional flavor!
The cookie itself is mild and delicate but the chocolate it’s coated in is rich and buttery. A yummy cookie to say the least!
Wibisco Shirley Biscuits
These shortbread cookies are multi-functional. Eat them with your coffee and tea or eat them with jam or use them in your baking. No matter what you do we guarantee they’ll be delicious!
These light and buttery biscuits have a cute little house stamped into them!
Our final item from this Tasty Island Crate is a Catch Bar. A delicious bar of caramel covered in puffed rice and chocolate. Sounds scrummy? IT IS!
Here is our half eaten bar – this is a terrible photo but all we know is that we need more of these in our life!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Tasty Island Crate is an excellent way to taste the exotic flavors of the Caribbean without ever leaving your house! Great for people wanting a taste of home as well! The presentation is great, everything arrives perfectly. The quality is wonderful – all authentic snacks with delicious flavors! The curation is AWESOME – this box was full of tasty treats that are not only delicious but also give us a great variety! Our whole family enjoyed The Tasty Island Crate
