Julep Maven Subscription Box Review + Coupon + Adds Ons | October 2017

julep maven review
Julep Maven is a monthly beauty subscription founded by Jane Park who believes make should make you feel good as well as look good and she started the Brave Pretty philosophy to empower women. I believe this started out as an only nail polish box. As they’re business grew they came out with makeup, skin care, beauty tools, and many other beauty items. Each month they have a new collection of polish colors, makeup shades, and other items. Subscribers can keep their monthly box the way it comes or they can switch every item in the box which is so cool so we can literally customize our entire box. I did swap out everything in my box because I get Julep for polish not makeup so I always swap out for just polish. This month I also added a trio of polishes as well because it was only $14. The monthly Maven box is $24.99 and includes over $40 of beauty items polishes or a mix of both. They also have secret sales each month that are up to 70% off.
*I pay for Julep myself*

Three of these were in my maven box and the other three were a trio I added on to my monthly box. I will let you know which is which in my description of each color. These polishes are 5 free, cruelty free and vegan which is another reason I love them they also stay on without chipping for a good 2 weeks. I literally sold all my OPI polish on ebay when I found Julep and other 5 free brands. Now I will show you my beautiful Fall inspired colors.
$14
One of the October collection colors Christi is a gorgeous Teal Shimmer. I am obsessed with this color its definitely my favorite out of the 6 I got I Love it. They are 0.27 fl oz
$14
October Collection Johnny a Creme Black this is a very nice black. I find that with some brands (most of them) you need like 4 coats to get a true black. I used 2 coats and had full coverage and a beautiful shine even before clear coat.
$14
My last of the October Collection Alonna a very deep purple shimmer. This polish covered so well I only had to use 1 coat to get a beautiful purple hue. 2 coats makes it a lot deeper color and I love it with 1 or 2 coats its a great color.
$14
Evan this creme beet color it is not pink I could not capture the color of this polish for the life of me I don’t know why but this is a dark magenta red its a really pretty shade.
$14
Meet Tabitha shes a beautiful metallic teal again this polish only really needs 1 coat to cover and look beautiful. I was really happy with the whole one coat needed deal.
$14
Finally Maylee, she is a really dark ink blue shimmer this polish needs 2 coats though to achieve the beautiful blue/violet color it has a gold fleck shimmer too.
$8
I got these super cute gold foil nail decals as a free gift in my box and a tootsie roll fruitsie but my kid ate it before I realized I had even got one. These went on really easy and looked adorable I usually don’t do decals because I am pretty good at doing nail art but these were adult-ish, pretty and way quicker than painting tiny flowers.

Nicoles’s Notes:

While I love the quality and choice of colors I do think $24.99 is a little on the high side especially if your like me and only get polish that is a little over $8 a bottle which is less than OPI but I just feel like its a lot. I do like that I can skip or gift a month to a friend but if I am paying $24 bucks for 3 polishes bet you behind I am keeping them, so i meant I like that I can skip a month if I can’t afford it. They do have an awesome formula tough its 5-free, vegan, and cruelty free. and the staying power is great so yeah I would recommend Julep I have never tried their makeup or skincare but I have heard really good things and I’ve seen really pretty shades. So if you want to subscribe to julep click the link below. Thank for reading my review I hope you enjoyed it.Use code POLISHGIFT to get a free 12 piece set of full size polish with your subscription which is a $168 value.

I want to be a Maven!!!
