Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the December Kizuna Box
Everything that we received in our December Kizuna Box. This is such a pretty assortment! This is their holiday box and included items that are popular in traditional Japanese holiday celebrations!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert
Inside they tell us a bit more about the month’s theme
And also detail each of the items that we received this month
This pretty cloth pictures Tsubaki blossoms in a crisp and eye catching winter scene. They suggest using this to decorate for the holidays or perhaps, wrapping a gift! We love the little bunny!
Handmade Fuku Daruma Doll
A popular talisman of good luck, these dolls are modeled after Bodhidarma. With eyes that are blank – you are to fill in one eye at the beginning of a difficult task and with the eye of the Daruma doll upon you… you draw in the other eye once the task is completed. They also symbolize resilience
“Seven Times Down, Eight Times Up” is their mantra and makes a great notion for the New Year! We think this doll is super cool!
Mino-yaki Bamboo Sake Set
Hot sake anyone? It will definitely warm your bones on these cold winter evenings! We are loving this blue bamboo motif and will absolutely be including this in our dining room decor! This set is dishwasher safe and the sake bottle has indentations for your fingers!
Nengajo New Year Card
This Kizuna Box exclusive has a dog… because it’s the year of the dog and the “Three Friends of Winter”
And it’s a postcard.. in case you feel the need to use it!
Rice Cracker Set
This set of three rice crackers includes a Sakura Shrimp Rice Cracker as well as a Yaoki Rice Cracker and a little insert with allergen information (just in case right?). These were tasty and the packages were stinking adorable!
Oshogatsu Sticker Sheet
Make your planner pop in the New Year with these fun stickers! Different symbols of luck and good fortune to start you 2018 right!
This fun Xmas card features tons of Santa’s hopping a bullet train! There were 4 card variations in the December Kizuna Boxes!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Kizuna Box is a beautiful box for people that love to experience new cultures and just enjoy beautiful things in general! The presentation is amazing. Everything is packaged well and arrives perfectly. The quality is beautiful. This box is fabulous and everything is authentic!
Curation is simply gorgeous. This mix has such a beautiful holiday feeling that we love and the items stick to authentic Japanese staples! It all came together perfectly – we are loving our Kizuna Box!
