book subscription review

The Novel of the month is “The Wife” by: Alafair Burke a NYC local, this is a follow up to his novel “The Ex”. This book is about how far a wife will go to protect the man she loves from a sexual harassment accusation. I have not read this yet but I am excited to.

book box review

Next up is this wicked cool little art print “I’m a Monster” book by Dylan Balliett, it’s a 40 pg mini book that I find hilarious. The art is amazingly mysterious and weird which is my style, I’ve posted a few of my favorites below. Dylan is also from New York, NY

I think I’ve found one of my new favorite artists.

There’s a certain unusual-ness to this art that I love!

Next we have a Paper Obscura book mark and A “Stabby” Enamel Pin by Brooklyn in New York, NY. The detail on this tiny 1″ knife is amazing – down to the little rivets in the knife’s handle its a really great piece that I am honored to add to my collection.

Lastly a candle By: Grizzly Candles in the scent: Sociopath, I must say this is right up my alley. I am obsessed with the candle; it’s name, it’s smell, everything about it is awesome. This is a 100% sociopathic, hand-poured candle from Brooklyn, NY. This smells fantastic with earthy notes and a kind of manly scent.

The info card about all this months items.

Nicole’s Notes:

I was super excited and honored to do this review, because I live in Massachusetts and Paper Obscura is also from Mass and I am huge on supporting local, small businesses and this is as local as it gets. The founder Bryan is a very friendly person and was a pleasure to work with. The bookish items in this box are all quality items that are local to their New York Makers which I found so cool. Going through and reading about the items in this box is like taking a small trip to the eccentric type shops in New York City an adventure if you will. If you would like to check out this box, which I highly suggest, then click the link below and type our exclusive promo code:  WICKEDFIRST at checkout for 10% off thanks for reading my review.
