Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the January 2020 Clean Slate themed package.
Everything that came in my January Box. I did redeem some of my Ipsy points for the Huda Palette and while this box isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination it certainly isn’t my favorite!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert.
Inside they’ve listed each of the items in our box along with their retail values.
Our bag for the month is a mix of a marble pattern and a silver metallic
The other side is just plain marble.
The inside of the bag is pink with an ipsy tag.
Billion Dollar Brows Best Sellers Kit
The first item in my box is the Best Sellers Kit from Billion Dollar Brows.
This kit includes an eyebrow pencil with a double sided spoolie, a brow gel, a blunt ended brush and a brow bone concealer and high light dual sided kit. I tried this out and really like it. I may be my favorite item that was included in this box.
Ahava Essential Day Moisturizer
This moisturizer from Ahava was an Ipsy exclusive! I really love receiving exclusive items! Ahava used Dead Sea Water, Vitamin E and B5 plus amino acids to hydrate and nourish your skin! Ahava is one of those brands that seems to be in lots of boxes from Ipsy… I’m getting a little tired of seeing them to be honest but this cream may be a new holy grail, who knows!
Purlisse Blue Lotus 4 in 1 Eye Adore Serum
Of the five items that were included in my box three of them were skincare products. Our second is an item from Purlisse – who’s another brand that’s included in boxes from Ipsy A LOT. This eye cream uses a plant based formula to target fine lines, crows feet, dark cirles and puffiness! I don’t use eye creams but now that my age is slowly creeping up there I think I really need to start.
Sugar Cosmetics Wingman Waterproof Eyeliner in I’ll be Black
Next up is a black liquid liner from Sugar Cosmetics. Sigh. I won’t be opening this yet and to be honest the last thing on Earth that I need another of (besides black mascara of course) is a black liquid liner. This does claim to be waterproof so .. once it’s on they say It’s on!
Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub
The final item in my box for January is this scrub from Goldfaden MD. This uses ruby crystals to polish away dead skin cells for a more taut and glowing complexion. I chose this product because the alternative was a Huda Palette and I already used my points to get one but I’m a little concerned this might be to rough on my redness prone skin.
So in summary
Presentation: Everything arrived to me perfectly and was packaged well in my box from Ipsy for January.
Quality: They did a good job of rounding up good brands (even though I find repetitive brands kind of boring).
Curation: Eh I think this is where the box bored me a bit this month… the value was certainly there but I don’t feel like they were blowing me away with the variety.
Box Economy: For the price of this box ($25) I received $217 in products which is an excellent deal!
Ipsy Plus $25
Not the best but still has lots of value
Ipsy Plus for January wasn’t my favorite box ever but it was definitely there in the value department!
