Subscription Box Review
The first glimpse inside the box from Misfits Market. All their packaging is compostable / biodegradable or recyclable.
Everything that came in my box from Misfits Market for this week. In lieu of sending an insert with a list of items included you can go on the Misfits Market site and see what they rescued that week. Many boxes from Misfits are customizable (mine is but I believe it depends on location).
First in my box are these five yellow summer squash. These are delicious and are great roasted in the over or in foil packets made on the grill!
Cabbage salad is one of my favorites. I’m not a huge fan of cooked cabbage but eating raw is divine! I just add a bit of onion, dill and white wine vinegar for a simple yet beautiful salad!
I also chose red potatoes in my box for the week. I received 6. That is something that I love about this box – in the larger box they’ll include doubles of products to accommodate for larger families (like mine).
Next are two sweet potatoes. I’ll probably mash these and eat them in my lunches. I eat only 1/3 c carbs with my meal so these will last me about a week!
When I chose oranges I had no idea there would be this many ( eight in total) ! These assorted oranges – there’s both mandarin and cara cara will be great in lunches!
I also received six gala apples which will also be great for lunch as well as for snacks for the kids!
I also chose romaine hearts for this box because I love them in salads and they seemed like a nice additional item for this week!
I also received six pears. These are loved by both my kids and my husband so I always choose them when they are an option. I am really happy with the amount of fruit that I received this week.
I also received an acorn squash. I love acorn squash the most of any in the squash family. They are delicious roasted with just a bit of garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil!
I also chose a butternut squash because I love butternut squash soup and the weather here in Southeastern PA is cold enough that a yummy soup seems called for!
Second to last in my box are eight bell peppers, four orange and four green. These are so versatile and can be eaten raw as crudite or used in a stir fry, chili, spaghetti sauce or almost anything!
Finally in my box I received a bag of snap peas. These will most definitely be sauteed in pan with just a bit of salt and butter. Sometimes simple is the way to go, especially for delicious veggies!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my Misfits Market box for this week.
Quality: I love that the food in this box is organic and even though they are supposed to be “Ugly” I think these veggies are perfect!
Curation: Considering I chose this box I have absolutely no complaints.
