Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for May. All the packaging is recyclable, biodegradable and compostable.
So what is all this stuff?
I received two artichokes in my box for this week. These are excellent steamed and served with mayo based dipping sauce (for the kids more than me!)
I also received two bunches of asparagus. Something that I like about this box is that in the larger box they will double up on most veggies making it a suitable dinner sized portion for larger families.
There were two peaches included in my box. These were really close to expiration so we tried to use these right away.
I selected English Cucumbers for my box this week as well. There were two included. These are delicious served in a simple salad or just sliced to snack on!
These two avocadoes came in my box as well. These were not ripe but we are currently working on that!
These two mangoes were also close to expiration. We cut these up right away and served them to the kids as a snack!
Then there were two Gala Apples included in my box. These are our favorites – yum!
Additionally there was one bag of brussel sprouts included in my box. These are so yummy roasted or sauted or even grilled in foil packets!
This container of mushrooms was used the night we received it! Love them served in a wine sauce with steak!
There were also two acorn squash included in my box. These are my personal favorites when it comes to squash. These are simple to make too… slice and roast with oil, salt, pepper and garlic! Delicious!
There were oranges included in my box as well. These will be great for packed lunches!
I also received two lemons in my box. I used one in a salad dressing and the other in a batch of my homemade kombucha!
The final item in my box are these two red onions. These are my favorite and are great in salads, sandwiches and pretty much any place raw! Love the bit of them!
So in summary
Presentation: While a couple of the fruits were close to expiration everything else came to me in pretty good shape.
Quality: I love that all the fruits and veggies are organic
Curation: Since I can select my produce each week I’d say the curation is excellent!
Misfits Market $22+
This week’s box from Misfits Market was an excellent assortment of both fruits and vegetables. A couple of the fruits were close to expiration but we just ate those first!
