Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for July. All the packaging used is recyclable, compostable or biodegradable which is a plus!
So what is all this stuff?
The first item that I selected for my box are these two bunches of collards. My whole family loves these cooked in brown sugar, ACV, bacon and broth! YUMMY!
I also selected a bunch of asparagus for my package. Another hit in my home.
A summer essential! I also selected six ears of corn. Of course we will prepare this traditionally – boiled and then doused in butter and salt!
This pineapple isn’t quite ripe yet but there are not many fruits my kids love as much as fresh pineapple!
I used these limes in lime ginger chicken… which if you haven’t had yet … is amazing! Just marinate it in garlic, lime juice and fresh ginger and it is absolutely amazing!
My kids love pluots which are a plum / apricot hybrid. So I selected them for my box this week. These went really fast!
I also selected roma tomatoes as these are my favorites. There were four included in my box.
There was also a huge head of cauliflower included in my box. I’m honestly the only person in my house that likes cauliflower but I’m okay with that!
There was also a head of purple cabbage included – I will almost definitely use this to make sauerkraut.
My box also included fresh oranges which are always nice to have on hand for the kids to snack on.
Another fruit that everyone in my home enjoys are pears. There were three included in my box for the week.
The final item in my box is this one lone mango! It’s already gone!
So in summary
Presentation: Despite this being an ugly produce box nothing in my package was “ugly” by any stretch of the imagination and everything was absolutely edible!
Quality: I love that the fruits and veggies are all organic and non gmo. And like I said – everything looked and tasted amazing.
Curation: Because I am able to pick the items that are included in my box each week I would say that the curation is pretty phenomenal!
